As a lifelong learner and community leader, Kenyatte Reid takes pride in being a public school educator. Throughout his career, he has worked to create school environments that thoughtfully address children’s developmental needs and empower all community stakeholders. Kenyatte began his career as a social studies and mathematics teacher and later administrator at his alma mater, Landmark Satellite West Middle School. He then championed single-gender education as the Founding Principal of Eagle Academy for Young Men of Southeast Queens.

With Experience in promoting positive school culture, Kenyatte joined the administration of the NYC Department of Education (NYCDOE) as the Senior Director of School Culture and Climate and now serves as the Executive Director of the NYCDOE Office of Safety and Youth Development. Creating policies to strengthen school climate, he leads the implementation and expansion of restorative practices, social-emotional learning, anti-bullying programs, and student discipline reform for school communities.
