Relationship Skills
Family Resources on What are Relationship Skills ?
Project and Purpose
In class students learned the definition of relationship skills. Students played a game called “The Great Debate!” where they had to make choices and practice disagreeing with each other
Relationship Skills are one of the five major competencies, or building blocks, of social emotional learning. We develop relationships so that we can understand each other and work together. Young children are just learning that there are many types of relationships and that different relationships have different norms for getting along together. As they enter school age, most children are just beginning to learn how to get along with large numbers of other peers, instead of just a few friends or family members. This lesson introduces building the competency of relationship skills.
